I wanted to add some tech into my style.

CIKI's design was based of those retro arcade machines but fits in the palm of your hand, allowing it to be attached to keychains, bookbags, etc. It's OLED screen displays customizable 8-bit images or GIFs like a slide show. CIKI is also equipped with a rechargeable LiPo battery!

EXPANDED TECHNICAL DETAILS

Interactive Wearable Digital Pet

CIKI is a miniature, keychain-sized digital companion that lives on a small OLED screen and responds to its environment to stay "Happy."

  • Animated Sprite Rendering Engine: The Arduino manages a 0.91" OLED display. The firmware includes a series of custom-drawn 8-bit sprites for CIKI’s various moods: Happy, Sad, Sleepy, and Playing.
  • Proximity-Based Socialization: (Advanced version) If two CIKI keychains are brought close together, they "Talk" via an IR-link, sharing data and increasing their happiness scores.

Aesthetics

  • Low-Power "Deep Sleep" Kernel: To maximize battery life from a CR2032 coin cell, the Arduino stays in a sub-microamp sleep mode, waking only when the user presses a physical button to "Check" on CIKI.
