First, I'd like to say that this is will be in 2 parts. Watch out for Part 2 next week !
So, yeah. My older sister bought a dog water bowl fountain a few months ago and told me that I shouldn't let it run out of water because that will be bad for the small submersible water pump that is inside the bowl.
But, I couldn't always be present to check it out, tho' I don't leave the house that much, but I'm on another room.
To solve that problem, I have decided to make use of some of the stuff that's available at my disposal.
This thing just let's you monitor you dog's or other pet's water intake and warns or reminds you to refill the bowl by making a buzzing sound that does not stop until you refill it.
That's the only practical use of this that I could think of at the moment.
The way it works is actually pretty simple.
The green LED is on and the refill count increases every time the 2nd magnetic part of the switch is floating. That means that the water level inside the bowl is still full or at safe level. On the other hand, the red LED and buzzer gets activated every time the 2 magnets are connected and completing a circuit which means that it needs a refill or the water level is LOW.
Btw, the PCB was provided by #PCBWay.

Don't worry, I wouldn't get anything if you decide to try their services. I just wanted to help.
IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHERE THE CODE/PROJECT FILE, SOURCES LINK IS, YOU WON'T FIND IT HERE.
THAT WILL BE ON NEXT WEEK'S VIDEO. SORRY.

EXPANDED TECHNICAL DETAILS
Pet Care Automation Logic
This project focuses on the sensing layer of an automated pet hydration system, ensuring your dog always has fresh water.
- Hydrostatic Pressure Sensing: Uses a liquid level sensor or a customized float switch. The Arduino monitors the analog resistance or digital state to determine the water height in the bowl.
- Visual Alert Thresholds: Features a tri-color LED system. Green for "Full," Yellow for "Low," and a flashing Red "Refill" signal when the level drops below 20%.
Prototyping
- TinkerCad Simulation: Developed and verified using TinkerCad, allowing for the virtual testing of the sensor logic and power consumption before physical hardware assembly.
