This robot was made for a robotics competition where it had to move 355 ml soda cans out of a circular shaped arena.

The robot was placed in the center of a circle and there was 10 soda cans placed around it like shown in the following picture:

The objective was to move the soda cans out of the circle as fast as possible

Interactive Kinetic Robotics

This fun and engaging project demonstrates the use of mechanical actuators to perform high-speed physical tasks.

  • Ultra-High Torque Solenoid/Servo Trigger: The robot uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect a soda can in its "Impact Zone." The Arduino then triggers a high-speed MG995 servo or a 12V solenoid to physically kick the can.
  • Coordinate Collision Engine: The firmware calculates the required "Retraction" time to ensure the kicking mechanism is reset before the next can is in place, simulating a professional industrial sorting or sports robot.

Power Hub

  • L298N Inductive Protection: Manages the high-current draw of the kick-actuator using an H-bridge, ensuring the Arduino logic remains stable even during the massive current spikes required for a strong "Kick."
