The project began when Delta Space Systems was founded and started creating rockets. We soon developed a system capable of sending high voltage anywhere on the rocket. Now it sends power anywhere on the rocket when it tilts over to a certain degree. These videos explain how it works.

EXPANDED TECHNICAL DETAILS

High-Stakes Avionics Fail-Safe

Designed for model rocketry, this system monitors critical flight parameters in real-time to trigger an "Auto-Abort" and parachute deployment if the launch goes wrong.

  • Inertial Out-of-Control Detection: Uses an MPU6050 6-DOF sensor. The Arduino monitors the "Tilt Angle." If the rocket's pitch or roll deviates more than 40 degrees from vertical during the boost phase, it triggers the abort logic.
  • Barometric Drift Detection: Uses a BMP280 to detect a sudden drop in altitude during the ascent (indicating engine failure).

Rescue Actuation

  • Parachute Ejection: The Arduino triggers a small Nicho-wire igniter or a high-speed servo to pop the nosecone and release the parachute, ensuring the safety of the rocket hardware and bystanders.
