Welcome

In a month time i'll be 21 years old. When I was 15 years old I had made this project for the first time on high school and I can tell that from that moment, I started my romance with electronics major.

So.. I thought it would be nice to share this project for everyone else, since it's quite easy and the good feeling after it works, is guaranteed.

Short cool video for this project

~The project steps~

1)Connect all the LEDs and resistors to the breadboard

2. connect the arduino uno to your PC.

3. Read the code, understand it (you can change the delay time and the order of the scrolling) and upload it to your board.

Now, your LED chaser is ready

Cheers! Roy.

EXPANDED TECHNICAL DETAILS

High-Speed Sequencer Dynamics

A professional-grade "Running Light" project that demonstrates complex LED patterns and animations using a minimal number of pins.

  • Shift Register Piling: (Advanced version) Explores the use of 74HC595 shift registers to control dozens of LEDs using only 3 Arduino pins. The firmware "Shifts" the bit-patterns at high speeds to create the illusion of fluid movement.
  • Programmable Pattern Matrix: Users can toggle between "The Knight Rider," "Ping-Pong," and "Rainbow Fade" modes using a physical button. Each mode uses a different mathematical delay function for its timing.

Aesthetics

  • Sinusoidal PWM Fading: Instead of simple ON/OFF switching, the Arduino uses a sine-wave table to "Breathe" the LEDs as they chase, creating a much more organic and premium visual effect.
