The Secure Watering System is a dual-purpose IoT solution designed for modern gardeners and farm owners. Utilizing the ultra-low-power Sigfox network via the Arduino MKR Fox 1200, this project automates the hydration of your plants while simultaneously acting as a sentinel against intruders. Whether you're managing a backyard patch or a remote field, this system ensures your crops stay green and your perimeter stays protected.

IoT Connectivity: The Sigfox Edge

Standard Wi-Fi systems often fail in large gardens or farm environments where the router signal cannot reach. The MKR Fox 1200 overcomes this by using Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technology:

• Long-Range Reporting: Send daily hydration logs and security alerts over kilometers without needing a SIM card or local Wi-Fi.
• Energy Efficiency: The system is designed to run for months on battery power, waking up only to perform watering tasks or to report a security breach.

Defensive Hydration: PIR Sensor Integration

What sets this project apart is its "Security First" mindset:

• Motion-Activated Sentinels: Four PIR Motion Sensors are strategically placed around the garden. If an intruder (human or animal) is detected while the system is armed, it can trigger an immediate alert via the Sigfox backend.
• Logic Level Control: The system uses high-performance IRLZ44N MOSFETs to drive heavy-duty 12V solenoid valves. This allows the 3.3V logic of the MKR Fox to switch high-current water lines with surgical precision.
• Automated Scheduling: You can customize the "Watering Window"—ensuring your plants are watered at optimal times (like dawn or dusk) while the security features remain active throughout the night.

Future Scalability: Industrial Integration

The modular design of the Secure Watering System allows for easy expansion. With dedicated indicator LEDs and physical override switches, the system is ready to be housed in a professional electrical panel. Future iterations can include soil moisture sensors to prevent over-watering or high-decibel sirens linked to the PIR sensors for a more aggressive deterrent.
