How it works:

As you prepare for sleep, check the temperature of the environment and thus better prepare for sleep. Then press the Light button, which will light up the display illumination, but do not worry about that this because the lighting will fade slowly after about ten minutes (this time can be set). Before bed, just press the Monitor button and have a good sleep. When you wake up press the Monitor button again to and check the following information:

Total sleep time of the last 20 nights
Amount of movements of the last 20 nights monitored
Amount of movements per hour
Amount of time without move (deep sleep, also known as REM)
Sleep report

Non-Intrusive Sleep Analytics

The Sleep Quality Monitor uses biometric sensing to track sleep patterns and provide localized environmental recommendations.

  • Kinetic Movement Analysis: Uses a high-sensitivity accelerometer (MPU-6050) placed under the mattress. The Arduino analyzes the frequency and intensity of movement to identify periods of "Restless" vs. "Quiet" sleep.
  • Environmental Context Logging: Simultaneously captures data from a DHT22 (Temp/Hum) and a Microphone module (for snoring or noise detection). The firmware correlates poor sleep quality with environmental spikes, helping the user optimize their bedroom.

Data Persistence

  • SD Card Time-Stamping: Logs all data with a timestamp from a DS3231 RTC to a microSD card, ensuring the user can review their sleep trends over weeks or months.
