Problems
Some viruses like the virus that causes COVID-19 spread easily, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Social distancing puts space between individuals. If someone is sick and there are no people around, a virus cannot spread. Social distancing means we are doing our best to stay away from people to limit the spread of corona virus. Regular handwashing is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs to others. Whether you are at home, at work, traveling, or out in the community. So you should maintain at least a 1-metre distance between yourself and others to reduce your risk of infection when they cough, sneeze, or speak. Maintain an even greater distance between yourself and others when indoors. The further away, the better. Handwashing must be done at a minimum speed to dislodge viruses and bacteria, and it should last roughly 20 seconds.
The solution

The idea is to make a bag that contains Ultrasonic Sensor, to achieve social distancing to prevent the spread of the Corona virus (covid-19), and it counts 20 seconds in which you wash your hands, and the screen displays the distance between you and the person in front of you, and if it is less than 1 meter, it gives an alert.
Project objective is to achieve social distancing to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, and helps you count 20 seconds in which you wash your hands well.
Prototype costs
250 pounds.
Recommendation
- The bag can be made in the form of a chain that does the same work.
EXPANDED TECHNICAL DETAILS
Pandemics-Aware Wearable Robotics
The Social Distance Bag is a wearable smart device designed to remind users to maintain a safe 2-meter physical distance from others.
- Ultrasonic Proximity Mapping: Uses an HC-SR04 sensor mounted on the bag's exterior. The Arduino continuously calculates the distance to the nearest person; if it drops below 150cm, it enters "Alert" mode.
- Haptic/Visual Warning Hub: The Arduino triggers a vibration motor in the bag's strap and a flashing Red LED on the front. This provides a private, tactile reminder to the wearer while signaling to the other person to step back.
Efficiency
- Motion-Triggered Sleep: Includes a tilt or vibration sensor; the distance monitoring only activates when the user is actually walking, saving battery during long periods of sitting or standing still.
