The relationship between leaf wetness duration, air temperature, and relative humidity is well known. The immediate project goals are to build an inexpensive datalogger capable of:
1. Measuring air temperature, relative humidity, and leaf wetness at an accurate timestep.
2. Storing measurements on an SD card with an RTC date time stamp.
3. Having sufficient power resources and sleep power management to log at 10 minute interval for a month.
4. Resisting weather and animal related intrusions.
A near future goal is to connect this datalogger with a standard fog collector and log tips of its modified rain gauge tipping bucket.

This industrial-grade datalogger is designed for long-term botanical research in remote areas, powered entirely by renewable solar energy.
- Solar Charge Management: Integrates a 5V/12V solar panel with a TP4056 or MPPT charge controller. The Arduino monitors its own battery voltage via an analog pin and adjusts the sensor polling frequency to conserve energy during low-light periods.
- Phytopathology Sensor Matrix: Captures Leaf Wetness, Soil Moisture, Ambient Humidity, and Temperature. These factors are critical for calculating the "Disease Risk Index" for crops like grapes or tomatoes.
Efficiency
- Deep-Sleep Duty Cycing: The Arduino remains in a 1.5µA deep-sleep state for 99% of the time, waking up every 15 minutes to take a reading and log it to an on-board SD card in CSV format.
