Okay, so its after Christmas but I made this before Christmas! This is a pretty simple project, it took me about 2 hours. The toughest thing was wrapping it!

Comedic Holiday Robotics

A project designed purely for entertainment, where a box "Refuses" to be opened or decorated, using clever mechanical interactions.

  • State-Machine Humor Logic: Uses a lid-swich and a high-torque servo. When the user flips a switch to turn on the "Christmas Lights," the Arduino opens the box, and a mechanical arm moves to flip the switch back off.
  • Seasonal Sound Coordination: Includes a piezo buzzer that plays a "Sad" or "Annoyed" version of holiday tunes whenever the box is forced to interact with the user.

Design

  • Battery-Aware Idle Mode: Since the box is meant to be a holiday ornament, the Arduino enters a deep-sleep state and only "Wakes" when the primary bait-switch is toggled, ensuring it lasts the entire holiday season.
